Community Service Projects

As part of the Leadership Essentials program, we are seeking Community Service Projects that can benefit the community and its service providers as well as provide a real challenge to our young professionals. Last years Leadership Essentials graduates reported that the service project component of the program was truly a worthwhile experience.

As part of the program, small teams of Leadership Essentials class members will be assigned to complete a community service project. Projects can address the objectives or issues of a single agency or a group of agencies. Consider projects that require strategic thinking, process improvements, and applications of skills likely to be found in such a group

This is a mutually beneficial experience for your agency and these young professionals. Your agency benefits from the talent, skills, and professional capabilities of the participants and they gain a better understanding of community needs and a deeper appreciation for community involvement.

If you have any questions or would like additional information, please contact Ian Kennedy [ikennedy@howardcountymd.gov].

" Without a doubt, the most important benefit of LHC to me personally has been learning about and feeling connected to our Howard County community and, because of this, being sometimes able to make a difference! "
